Core functions of the equipment:
This equipment is a small-scale reverse osmosis (RO) pure water preparation system. The core objective is to remove the vast majority of dissolved salts, organic matter, colloids, bacteria and viruses from raw water (such as tap water, groundwater and surface water) through physical filtration and ion exchange processes, and to produce pure water with low electrical conductivity and high purity (with a water production capacity of 0.3 cubic meters per hour).

Introduction to Key Components:

Pretreatment system - Two-tank configuration:

Multi-media filter (first tank) :

Function: As the first-level pretreatment, it mainly removes suspended particles, sediment, rust, colloids, larger impurities, etc. from the raw water. Protect the subsequent softening resin and RO membrane from clogging and contamination.

Medium: It is usually composed of multiple layers of filter materials such as quartz sand and anthracite of different particle sizes, and impurities are removed by deep filtration and interception.

Maintenance: Regular backwashing is required to use reverse water flow to flush out the trapped dirt from the tank and restore the filtration capacity.

 

Softener (Second tank) :

Function: As the second-level pretreatment, it mainly removes calcium ions (Ca²⁺) and magnesium ions (Mg²⁺) from water to reduce water hardness.

Principle: The tank is filled with sodium-type ion exchange resin. Convert hard water into soft water.

Importance: Preventing scaling (water scale) on the surface of RO membranes is a crucial step in protecting the lifespan of RO membranes, maintaining a stable desalination rate and water production.

 

Reverse osmosis (RO) mainframe:

Core component: RO membrane element. Use roll-type polyamide composite membranes (membrane elements of 4040 specification).

Principle: Under the high pressure provided by a high-pressure pump (usually a centrifugal pump), the raw water is forced to pass through an extremely precise RO membrane (with a pore size of approximately 0.0001 microns). Water molecules can pass through the membrane to become pure water (product water), while the vast majority of dissolved salts, organic matter, colloids, bacteria, viruses, etc. are intercepted by the membrane and discharged as concentrated water (wastewater).

Desalination rate: It can usually reach 95%-98%, and the electrical conductivity of the produced water is significantly reduced.

The ratio of product water to concentrated water: Depending on the quality of the raw water and the design, the ratio of pure water to wastewater is usually 1:1, and can reach up to 3:1 at most. Concentrated water can be recycled (such as for flushing toilets and greening) or discharged.
