I. System Core Overview
Water Production Capacity: 15 cubic meters/hour (approximately 360 tons of water produced in 24 hours)
Process Type: Single-stage reverse osmosis
Meaning: After pretreatment, raw water undergoes only one reverse osmosis membrane treatment to obtain product water. Simple structure, low investment and operating costs.
Core Function: Removes approximately 97-99% of dissolved salts, over 99% of colloids, microorganisms, and organic matter from the water.
Key Features: Integrated chemical cleaning device for online cleaning of membrane elements, restoring membrane performance and extending service life.
II. Standard System Process Flow and Composition
A complete "15-ton single-stage RO system" consists of the following units connected in series:
1. Pretreatment Unit (Safety System, Crucial)
Purpose: To ensure the quality of the RO membrane feed water and prevent membrane fouling, scaling, and physical damage.
Typical Configuration:
Multi-media Filter: Removes suspended solids, colloids, iron and manganese oxides, etc.
Activated Carbon Filter: Adsorbs residual chlorine, organic matter, odor, and color. (Key: Protect the RO membrane from oxidative damage)
Softener (Optional but recommended): Used to remove calcium and magnesium ions if the raw water has high hardness, preventing scaling on the RO membrane.
Precision Filter (Security Filter): Installed before the RO unit as the final barrier, using a 5μm filter cartridge to trap any particles that may pass through.
2. RO Unit (Core)
High-Pressure Pump: Provides the pressure (typically 8-15 bar) required to overcome osmotic pressure for the RO membrane.
Membrane Housing Pressure Vessel: Typically made of fiberglass, housing multiple RO membrane elements.
Reverse Osmosis Membrane Elements: The heart of the system. A 15 tonnes/hour production rate typically uses 8-inch membrane elements; the number is determined by the individual production capacity and recovery rate of each element (e.g., approximately 6-8 elements with a production capacity of 2.5-3 tons/hour).
Pipeline and Valve System: Includes high and low pressure piping, electric/pneumatic control valves, sampling valves, pressure gauges, flow meters, etc.
3. Chemical In-Place Cleaning (CIP) Unit
Function: Performs online chemical cleaning when the permeate flow rate of the standardized RO system decreases by 10-15%, the inter-stage pressure difference increases by 15-20%, or the desalination rate significantly decreases.
Main Components:
Cleaning Tank: Made of PE or stainless steel, with a capacity of 500-1000L, sufficient to hold the cleaning solution for one cleaning cycle.
Cleaning Pump: Corrosion-resistant centrifugal pump, providing the low flow rate and pressure required for cleaning.
Precision Filter: Final filtration of the cleaning solution before it enters the membrane elements.
Connecting Piping and Valves: Enables switching between operating and cleaning modes.
4. Control and Instrumentation Unit
PLC Control Cabinet: Enables fully automatic/manual operation, controlling high and low pressure protection, flushing, and cleaning procedures.
Core Instruments: Inlet/Permeate/Concentrate Flow Meters, Inlet Water Conductivity Meter, Permeate Water Conductivity Meter, High and Low Pressure Switches, pH Meter, etc.
